Le 1er mai démarre mon projet post-doctoral à l’Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR), Québec, Canada ! Je suis rattachée au Département de biologie, chimie et géographie, et plus particulièrement à la Chaire de recherche du Canada en biologie intégrative de la flore nordique dirigée par le Pr Guillaume de Lafontaine.
Le projet porte sur l’histoire des feux dans la région du Bas-Saint-Laurent. Plus particulièrement, il s’agira d’étudier la fréquence des feux en lien avec la dynamique de régénération du pin gris (Pinus banksiana). L’approche sera écologique (structure des populations forestières), anthracologique (quantification des charbons de bois trouvés dans les sols et identification des espèces) et historique (travail sur les archives et données anciennes).
May 1st starts my post-doc at the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR), Québec, Canada! I am affiliated to the Department of biology, chemistry and geography, and more specifically to the Canada research chair in integrative biology of the nordic flora, head Pr Guillaume de Lafontaine.
The project deals with the fire history in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region. More specifically, I will study the fire frequency in relationship with the regeneration dynamics of Jack pine (Pinus banksiana). The approach will be ecological (structures of forest populations), anthracological (quantification of soil charcoal and species identification) and historical (work on archives and ancient data).
